The Screening Process
Only the top 3% of AI engineers join the network.
Each applicant moves through a five-stage process designed to evaluate frontier-grade ability: communication, deep technical knowledge, real-world execution, and continued excellence on the work. The full process takes 3-8 weeks.
Language & reasoning
A structured interview evaluating English fluency, communication clarity, ML literacy, and structured problem-solving. We look for engineers who can think rigorously and explain their work to senior researchers and stakeholders.
Deep skill review
Hands-on technical assessments across the engineer's chosen domain -- pre-training, post-training, agents, RL environments, infra, multimodality, or applied AI. Only candidates with exceptional results advance.
Real-world project
A 13-day frontier-style project: fine-tune a model, build an evaluation pipeline, design an RL environment, or ship an agent. The brief is deliberately open-ended -- judgment and taste matter as much as execution.
Live panel
An expert panel -- typically two senior practitioners from frontier labs -- probes depth, judgment, and creativity under pressure with live exercises. Strong written work earns the panel; the panel earns the offer.
Continued excellence
Membership is earned, not granted. Every engagement is reviewed. Engineers who don't maintain the bar exit the network -- that's how it stays a network worth being part of.
