Why Anthropic
Your post-training stack is the closest match to what I want to spend the next four years on. The reward-modeling work I've shipped -- most recently a 7B preference model with measurable IFEval lift -- points at the same problems your team is publishing on.
Sample project
Reward-model eval harness -- reduced regression detection from days to 90 min across four RLHF releases

SF preferred -- 8-week notice

// The 90-second application

From "interesting role" to "submitted" without the four-hour wall.

Most engineers abandon ~60% of the applications they start. Not because they lost interest -- because the form is six pages long, every lab asks the same questions in slightly different words, and the cover note alone takes an hour. Here's what changes.

// SAME APPLICATION -- WITH vs. WITHOUT AUTOFILL

01Read the role brief15 min15 min
02Tailor the resume45 min8 sec
03Write the cover note60 min10 sec
04Answer 6-10 form questions90 min25 sec
05Upload + double-check10 min90 sec review
Total per application3h 40m -- 16 min 93%

The interesting part isn't the time saved. It's how many serious applications an engineer can credibly run in a cycle.

Three to four hours per application means most engineers run two or three at once and give up on the long tail. Sixteen minutes per application means you can run a real, well-tailored, twelve-lab cycle in a single weekend.

// average across network members -- q1 2026

// The problem

Frontier-lab application forms are weirdly hard.

It's not the resume upload -- that's the easy part. It's the seven custom essay questions per lab, every one slightly different, every one expecting a non-generic answer in the lab's voice. Multiply that by twelve labs.

What usually happensABANDONED

  • You fill the easy fields, hit the essay questions, switch tabs, never return.
  • The same generic cover note goes to four labs, each visibly tuned for a different audience.
  • The lab-specific question -- "why us, not another frontier lab?" -- gets a one-liner.
  • You skip the project description because it would take another 40 minutes.
  • By the time you submit, you've lost the energy to read your own answers.

What Application Autofill doesSUBMITTED

  • Reads the form once per lab. Caches the field schema. Refills automatically next time.
  • Generates a cover note in the lab's voice -- Anthropic reads different from xAI, and so does yours.
  • "Why this lab" is drafted with two specific reasons drawn from your work and the lab's direction.
  • Pulls the right project from your repos to match the project-description ask.
  • Hands you a complete draft. You review, edit, submit. You're in control of every word that goes out.

// How it works

Four steps. One tap from a match.

Application Autofill is built to disappear into your workflow. The only conscious step is the review pass before you click submit.

01

Start from a match

Pick any role surfaced by AI Job Match. Application Autofill knows the lab, the role brief, and your tailored resume from Resume AI.

02

Form schema, decoded

The form's field structure is parsed once per lab -- required answers, free-text essays, dropdown options, file uploads, redirects.

03

Drafts fill in

Resume goes in. Cover note is generated in the lab's voice. Essay answers are drafted using your work, the lab's direction, and your match-reasoning panel.

04

You review & submit

Every field is shown side-by-side with the source it was drawn from. Edit anything. Nothing submits until you hit submit yourself.

// What it fills

Six families of field. All grounded in your real work.

Application Autofill draws from sources you've explicitly connected. Every drafted answer cites where it came from, so you can verify in one click.

Identity & contact

Name, email, phone, country, work authorization, optional demographics. Cached once across labs.

// source: your profile -- 1 click to confirm

Resume upload

The Resume-AI-tailored version for this exact role auto-uploads. PDF, docx, LaTeX -- labs vary.

// source: Resume AI -- tailored draft

Cover note

Drafted in the lab's voice, citing two specific reasons grounded in your work and the team's recent direction.

// source: your work -- match panel

Project descriptions

"Describe a project you're proud of" -- autofill picks the strongest matching project from your repos and write-ups.

// source: github + project notes

Why this lab

The most-asked open-ended question. Drafted with two grounded reasons -- never generic, never the same across labs.

// source: your taste profile -- lab signal

Logistics & preferences

Geography, start date, comp expectations, visa needs. Pre-filled from your network profile; editable per role.

// source: your preferences

// Per-lab examples

Every lab phrases the questions differently. Autofill knows.

A "why us" answer for Anthropic shouldn't read like a "why us" answer for xAI. Pick a lab to see the calibration.

Anthropic -- post-training role

The application form emphasizes thoughtful, grounded reasoning. Autofill drafts in plain, specific prose -- no hype.

  • Tone: measured, specific, evidence-led.
  • Length: short -- typically under 200 words per essay.
  • Citations: the team's published work, when honestly relevant.
  • Submit destination: Greenhouse-style form, two-step.
Q -- Why Anthropic, specifically?

Two reasons. First, your post-training stack -- particularly the work on reward modeling and IFEval-style evals -- is where the bulk of my recent shipped work sits, so the on-ramp would be short. Second, the published commitments around thoughtful deployment match how I already think about the work: I want to ship models in environments where the team takes the deployment seriously, not just the training.

// SOURCE -- YOUR LAST 4 PROJECTS + ANTHROPIC RECENT PAPERS
Q -- Describe a project you're proud of.

Last quarter I trained a 7B reward model on 220K preference pairs and shipped it to production in six weeks. The interesting part wasn't the training -- it was the eval harness I built alongside, which cut regression detection from days to 90 minutes and is now reused across four RLHF release cycles.

// By the numbers

A 90-second application is a different conversion event.

Engineers who turn Application Autofill on submit more applications, finish more cycles, and accept offers from labs they wouldn't have otherwise reached.

Nothing submits until you submit it.

Application Autofill is a draft tool, not an auto-applier. You see every field, every word, every attachment before anything reaches a lab.

Every drafted field is shown side-by-side with the source it was drawn from. The submit button is locked until you've scrolled to the bottom of the review.

Per-application consentEXPLICIT

No bulk-submit, no auto-applier, no "apply to top-10 matches." Each application is a separate, opt-in action. We won't ever offer a one-tap-spray button.

I'd been telling myself I'd "do the applications this weekend" for four months. The first weekend with Autofill, I submitted to nine labs -- every one tailored, every one in my voice, every one I would have written if I'd had eight hours per application. Three of them moved me to phone screens.

// FAQ

Questions engineers ask first.

Does Application Autofill auto-submit on my behalf?+

No. Application Autofill drafts the application -- it never submits it without you. The submit button is locked until you've scrolled through every field. Every word that goes out is one you've personally signed off on.

This is a deliberate product decision, not a stage we'll remove. The whole value is the review, not the bypass.

Will the lab know my application was AI-drafted?+

The draft is grounded in your real work and edited by you. Hiring teams care whether claims are true and the work is yours -- both of which remain the case. Most of our network members rewrite at least one field per application, and the rest are reviewed line-by-line.

If you'd prefer to use Autofill as a starting point and rewrite more aggressively, that's encouraged.

What if a lab's form changes?+

Form schemas are refreshed weekly. If a lab updates its form and Autofill can't parse a new field, we fall back to manual fill for that field and flag it in the review pass. We log unparseable schemas for the engineering team to fix that same week.

Which labs does it support today?+

Twelve frontier labs at present: Anthropic, OpenAI, DeepMind, Mistral, Cohere, Perplexity, xAI, Sarvam, Reka, Runway, Scale AI, and Fractal. Network members can request additional labs at any time; new ones are typically added within two weeks of the first request.

Is it really free?+

Free for OpenTalent network members. To join the network, apply through the five-stage screening. Less than 3% of applicants make it through.

Does it work without AI Job Match?+

Yes. You can paste a job URL from any lab we support and start an Autofill session manually. It just composes better with AI Job Match because the match-reasoning panel gives Autofill better source material for the "why this lab" answer.
