Systems Engineer
Provide advanced Windows infrastructure support, manage servers, Active Directory, and virtualization platforms while ensuring reliable digital services for a national library’s collections.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including patching, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Manage Active Directory services, group policies, and user account lifecycle.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Support and troubleshoot VMware and Azure virtualisation platforms used for digital record storage and access.
- Act as an escalation point for complex incidents, providing timely resolution and root‑cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design and implement infrastructure improvements that support the library’s digital preservation goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience administering Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) in an enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
- Hands‑on experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
- Familiarity with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Azure infrastructure services.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work under pressure, and strong communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
