Overview
Inspect welds on one of the largest semiconductor construction projects in the United States — the Samsung fab in Taylor, TX.
We are hiring Weld Inspectors / Quality Assurance Representatives (QAR) for a 2-year project certifying Ultra-High Purity (UHP) process piping systems. No semiconductor experience required — if you have a background in welding, QC/QA, machining, piping, instrumentation, NDT, or even automotive mechanics, we will train you on the rest.
PAY: $20–$35/hour based on experience. Overtime paid at 1.5x, double-time at 2.0x.
WHY THIS ROLE:
- Long-term stability: 2-year project duration
- Serious earning potential: this is a very active jobsite — 40 to 70+ hour weeks, with OT at 1.5x and double-time at 2.0x. Experienced inspectors working heavy OT can clear well over six figures annually.
- Paid on-the-job training, SOP training, and technical course materials provided
- No travel — all work at the Taylor, TX facility
- Clean, high-tech environment (Class 10 cleanroom and sub-fab)
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Inspect automatic orbital GTAW welds on 316L stainless steel UHP piping to project acceptance criteria
- Document accepted and rejected welds; communicate rejections with welders and re-inspect
- Perform surveillance ensuring UHP procedures are followed by fabrication contractors
- Walk down gas, chemical, and utility systems checking hangers, supports, routing, labeling, and workmanship
- Witness pressure tests to applicable specifications
- Work in cleanroom environments (full smock: headcover, facemask, suit, boots, gloves)

- Hands-on mechanical background — any of the following count: welder, orbital welding, fabrication, machinist, QC/QA, weld inspection, NDT, pressure testing, piping systems, instrumentation and controls, preventive maintenance, auto mechanics, gas panels/gas cabinets/VMB, semiconductor or microelectronics
- Physically fit: lift/push/pull 50 lbs daily, walk several miles per shift, climb ladders, work at heights with fall protection
- Dependable, on time, self-motivated to learn
- Professional appearance and communication — you will interact directly with Samsung personnel and engineers
REQUIREMENTS:
