Not a metaphor. An actual set of wrenches. We do not care if they live in a shop, a closet, a milk crate, or a bag you carry to the bike co-op. Bonus if you have both metric and inch sets.

We build and sell RC car parts. Our customers are people who know why a shock rebuild matters and can hear when a diff is going. If you have never cared about a machine enough to take it apart, you will not understand them, and you will not understand our catalog.

So here is the real filter:

You can tell an air-cooled Porsche from a water-cooled 911 at a glance. Or you know why your buddy's ATV clutch keeps slipping. Or you have straightened a bent derailleur hanger, a stuck bottom bracket, or a wheel that needed truing and won. Cars, motorcycles, ATVs, bicycles, karts, dirt bikes, e-bikes, we do not care which. We care that you fix your own stuff and that you have opinions about torque specs.

And you write code for a living. Web dev, day job, real production work. Specifically:

• You can write a LEFT JOIN and explain why it returned more rows than you expected
• You know the difference between a function that takes an object and a function that takes a well-defined type, and you have opinions about which one you want at 2am
• You can read someone else's code without rewriting all of it first

Our stack is Perl, MySQL, Python, Node, and a pile of internal tooling that has been running the business for over 20 years. If Perl scares you, this is not the job. If Perl amuses you, we should talk.

Why the enthusiast requirement is not negotiable: AI tools have made the coding part dramatically easier. Anyone can get a working query out of a chatbot now. What no tool can do is look at a parts fitment list and think "wait, that shock tower does not work on that chassis." That judgment comes from caring about the hardware. We can teach the codebase. We cannot install the enthusiasm.
