The VoICE Systems Engineer will support the FAA in modernizing air traffic control voice communications and will provide technical expertise in the following areas: ATC voice communications, voice switch hardware, software, systems, analog/electrical/digital/VoIP interfaces, and networking. The engineer will collaborate with the team through system requirements development, industry/market research, source selection, system verification/validation, system implementation and full system life cycle planning and management.
The candidate will also review and prepare engineering and technical analysis reports, and other technical documentation. May also analyze, design, develop, implement and test software related to engineering or functional requirements of NAS and associated support systems.
Required Skills
At a minimum, the candidate should possess a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science/Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience that includes working with ATC voice communications systems.
