What does GDMO do?
The Group Data Management Office (GDMO) plans and executes key data initiatives to build long-term data governance and management capabilities that enable OCBC Group to meet its regulatory obligations and digitalization objectives.
As part of its remit, GDMO also serves as the primary governance function to promote the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics (AIDA) in the Group.
Responsibilities Include
- Setting enterprise-wide policies that articulate the standards and controls to enable the Group’s meeting of the FEAT (Fairness, Ethics, Accountability, Transparency) principles, and other prevailing requirements from regulators.
- Engaging relevant senior stakeholders including model owners in the validation and enforcement of the standards and controls in line with industry best practices.
- Providing reasonable assurance to senior management on the Group’s compliance with responsible AI principles, taking into consideration the control and business objectives.
- Serving as the secretariat for the top-of-house management committee responsible for oversight of the Group’s compliance with FEAT principles, to ensure that the committee serves its purpose effectively.
- Leading and developing the team to fulfil the responsibilities and tasks assigned to GDMO in promoting the responsible use of AIDA in the Group.
- Engaging external stakeholders including industry peers and regulators through industry-wide forums, as contribution to the development of thought leadership and best practice in the area, and with a view of adopting them within the Group.
Job Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate with experience either in the development of AIDA systems or its governance, preferably in the banking or finance industry. The successful candidate will be expected to be/have:
- More than 10 years of related working experience. Candidates with experience in model governance and/or its independent validation will be viewed favourably.
- Good university degree in a STEM discipline, with a strong ability of handling data and performing quantitative analysis.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Independent, creative with a pro-active problem-solving mindset.
- High level of initiative and commitment to work either independently or as part of a team.
