About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the overall database architecture strategy across on‑prem and cloud environments, ensuring alignment with business and regulatory requirements.
- Lead a high‑performing team of database engineers, architects, and data scientists to design, implement, and optimize large‑scale relational and NoSQL data stores.
- Drive performance tuning, capacity planning, and disaster‑recovery initiatives, delivering measurable improvements in query latency and system availability.
- Collaborate with data governance, security, and compliance teams to enforce data protection, privacy, and audit standards.
- Champion the adoption of emerging database technologies and best practices, including containerization, automation, and AI‑driven analytics.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in database engineering, with a proven track record in enterprise SQL and NoSQL environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS database services (RDS, Aurora, DynamoDB, Redshift) and on‑prem solutions (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Strong background in performance tuning, query optimization, and high‑availability design.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Experience with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks in a regulated industry is highly desirable.
