Duties
- Plan, organize, and facilitate VEX Robotics team practices and competitions for students of various ages and skill levels
- Teach fundamental robotics concepts including design, engineering principles, programming, and troubleshooting using VEX robotics kits
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to ensure a positive, inclusive environment that encourages participation from all students
- Supervise children during activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Coordinate with school staff, parents, and community partners to support student engagement in robotics programs
- Foster youth development by encouraging teamwork, leadership skills, and perseverance through project-based learning
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or camp settings is highly desirable
- Prior experience working on VEX platform and VEX competition
- Demonstrated classroom management skills with the ability to motivate diverse groups of youth
- Knowledge of STEM education principles, especially related to robotics or engineering projects
- Experience facilitating youth group activities or extracurricular programs in outdoor or indoor environments
- Previous involvement in youth programs teaching or coaching robotics, tutoring, theater arts or childhood development is advantageous
