We are assisting our client, a leading global maritime and feeder solutions provider, in hiring a Vessel IT Engineer. This role is ideal for a hands-on IT support professional who enjoys troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues and supporting mission-critical operations. You will provide remote L2 and L3 technical support to vessels, working closely with captains and ship crew to ensure reliable onboard IT connectivity and system availability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide remote L2 and L3 technical support to vessels, captains and ship crew.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, network and communication-system issues remotely.
- Manage, support, maintain and upgrade onboard IT infrastructure across the vessel fleet.
- Support vessel networks, servers, workstations, Wi-Fi infrastructure, firewalls, switches, UPS, storage and backup systems.
- Install, configure and optimise Microsoft environments, including Windows Server, Windows 10, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Hyper-V.
- Monitor system performance, connectivity, availability and reliability across onboard environments.
- Perform remote system, security and network updates or upgrades.
- Maintain cybersecurity controls, antivirus protection, system backups and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Liaise with captains, ship crew, vendors and other IT teams to coordinate troubleshooting and issue resolution.
- Participate in improvements to vessel IT infrastructure, communication systems and operational processes.
- Provide after-hours and weekend support as part of an on-call rotation to support vessels operating around the clock.
- Board vessels occasionally for IT audits or ad-hoc technical work when required.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Approximately 2–5 years of relevant IT infrastructure, technical support or systems-engineering experience.
- Hands-on experience in onsite infrastructure support, rather than primarily cloud-based Microsoft 365 support.
