Software Engineer
Lead the design, optimisation and maintenance of underground mine ventilation systems, applying airflow analysis, CFD modelling and safety standards to enhance production efficiency and worker safety.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design and optimise ventilation networks for underground mining operations, ensuring adequate airflow and gas dilution.
- Conduct airflow simulations using CFD tools to predict performance and identify bottlenecks.
- Develop and implement ventilation maintenance plans, including fan schedules and duct inspections.
- Collaborate with mining, safety and environmental teams to meet regulatory and operational requirements.
- Analyse ventilation data, prepare reports and recommend improvements to increase productivity and safety.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in underground mine ventilation design and operation.
- Proficiency with CFD software (e.g., ANSYS Fluent, CFX) and ventilation design tools.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in mining ventilation.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
