As a Validation Engineer, you’ll be the bridge between design and the skies. You’ll ensure that every avionics component, communication link, and control system works flawlessly before takeoff. Your work will directly influence mission success, from crafting robust test plans to fine-tuning autopilot configurations. When our aircraft takes flight, it will do so with your fingerprints on every system that makes it possible.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the integration and validation of avionics, communications, flight-control parameters, and control systems prior to flight.
- Configure and test mission planning software (e.g., Mission Planner) to ensure accurate navigation and operational readiness.
- Set up and validate QC Connect, radio transmitters/receivers, and autopilot configurations (including PX4, ArduPilot, and other open-source flight control systems).
- Validate aircraft flight parameters and mechanical responses, including control-surface direction, wing movement, servo travel, angle limits, and fail-safe behavior.
- Perform electrical-health and parasitic-load checks, including battery condition, power distribution, standby current draw, sensor health, and connector integrity.
- Conduct ground and flight testing for fixed-wing drones and manned/unmanned aircraft, ensuring stability, control, and mission compliance.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, including pre-flight checklists, validation protocols, and contingency procedures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues across hardware and software systems.
- Produce clear, data-driven validation reports for engineering and flight operations teams.
- Collaborate closely with flight test engineers, software developers, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless system performance .
