Systems Engineer
Seeking a Unix Systems Administrator, AVP to manage and maintain Unix environments. This role involves system administration, scripting, and ensuring the stability and performance of critical infrastructure.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Unix/Linux operating systems and related software.
- Develop and implement shell scripts for automation of system administration tasks.
- Monitor system performance, identify and resolve issues, and implement solutions.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system reliability and security.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Unix Systems Administrator or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems (e.g., Solaris, AIX, RHEL, Ubuntu).
- Proficiency in shell scripting (e.g., Bash, Korn).
- Experience with system monitoring and performance tuning tools.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and protocols.
