Job Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated UAV Systems Engineer to lead our Drone Operations and Integration activities. The candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end preparation, integration, testing, troubleshooting, and field deployment of UAV systems developed under the SimpliFly product line. This role involves conducting flight trials, customer demonstrations, and technical evaluations for defence organizations, including the Indian Army. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with multirotor, fixed-wing, and VTOL drones and be capable of independently diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and flight-related issues. The candidate will act as the technical owner of the Drone Section and work closely with the R&D, Production, and Business Development teams.
Responsibilities
· Lead the Drone Operations and Integration team.
· Integrate and configure multirotor, VTOL, and fixed-wing UAV platforms.
· Plan and execute drone flight trials, customer demonstrations, and field evaluations.
· Conduct defence demonstrations and technical trials for Army and Government organizations.
· Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, communication, and flight-related issues.
· Configure and tune PX4 and ArduPilot flight controllers.
· Perform mission planning using QGroundControl and Mission Planner.
· Validate GPS, telemetry, RC systems, payloads, cameras, and onboard electronics.
· Coordinate with the R&D team to implement improvements identified during testing.
· Prepare technical reports after field trials and customer demonstrations.
· Support customer training during product deployment.
· Ensure compliance with flight safety procedures.
· Take ownership of the Drone Section and ensure successful execution of drone projects.
Technical Skills Required
· Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication (EXTC), Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
· 2-3 years of hands-on experience in UAV integration, testing, or field operations.
· Strong knowledge of multirotor, VTOL, and fixed-wing UAV platforms.
· Experience with PX4 and/or ArduPilot.
· Familiarity with Mission Planner and QGroundControl.
· Understanding of drone electronics, ESCs, BLDC motors, GPS, telemetry, RC systems, batteries, and power distribution.
· Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot flight-related issues.
· Knowledge of embedded systems and UAV communication systems is an advantage.
· Experience with payload integration, cameras, and gimbals is preferred.
· Willingness to travel across India for customer demonstrations and defence trials.
· Drone pilot certification is an added advantage.
