Lead roadway improvement projects from concept to construction, overseeing design, budgeting, scheduling, and business development for highway and traffic engineering initiatives.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, and budgets for transportation infrastructure projects.
- Direct the design process for roadway, highway, and traffic engineering deliverables through conceptual, preliminary, intermediate, and final design phases.
- Coordinate schematic and PS&E plan preparation, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, consultants, and contractors to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Support business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and pursuit of new project opportunities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Transportation Engineering; Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 5+ years of experience managing roadway or highway design projects, with proven leadership in all design phases.
- Strong knowledge of traffic engineering principles, design software, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated ability to create and control project budgets, schedules, and resource allocations.
- Excellent communication and client‑facing skills, with experience in business development and proposal writing.
