Transportation Engineer‑in‑Training role focused on evaluating land development impacts, applying transportation planning principles, and collaborating with stakeholders to support the City Plan using GIS, AutoCAD, and civil engineering expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Review land development applications, including statutory plans, rezoning, and road closure requests, to assess transportation infrastructure impacts.
- Prepare engineering analyses and recommendations that align with the City Plan and transportation objectives.
- Collaborate with developers, city staff, and the public to balance project staging with corporate goals.
- Utilize GIS and AutoCAD to model and visualize transportation scenarios and design solutions.
- Support project management activities, including scheduling, cost estimation, and progress reporting.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in traffic analysis and transportation planning.
- Proficiency in GIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Valid EIT status or eligibility to obtain within 12 months.
