About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and analyze large transportation datasets using Python and SQL to support planning and operational decisions.
- Develop GIS-based spatial models and visualizations to identify traffic patterns, congestion hotspots, and infrastructure needs.
- Apply machine learning techniques to forecast travel demand, incident risk, and maintenance schedules.
- Collaborate with transportation engineers, planners, and stakeholders to translate analytical findings into policy recommendations.
- Prepare technical reports, dashboards, and presentations for internal and external audiences.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Transportation Engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience with Python (pandas, scikit-learn, GeoPandas) and SQL for data manipulation.
- Strong GIS skills using ArcGIS or QGIS and spatial analysis.
- Experience with machine learning model development and deployment.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
