Transport and Development Advice Engineer - Merri-bek City Council

Key Responsibilities

• Lead transport and development advice projects, integrating transport planning, land use, and environmental considerations.
• Conduct traffic and mobility studies, produce data‑driven recommendations for infrastructure improvements.
• Utilise GIS and spatial analysis tools to model transport scenarios and support decision‑making.
• Collaborate with council departments, external agencies, and community groups to align projects with strategic goals.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and policy briefs for senior management and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering, Urban Planning, Civil Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in transport modelling, traffic impact assessment, and GIS analysis.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, ArcGIS, and transport simulation software.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Knowledge of local government processes and planning legislation is an advantage.
