About the Role
SMX is actively seeking Training Specialists to join our team, focusing on supporting State and Local Government customers with the implementation of a child welfare information system. Essential Duties
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for child welfare information system implementation, including Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions and go-live training.
- Create training deliverables such as Training Manuals, End-User Guides, and other materials using the Articulate platform.
- Develop and deploy LMS courseware for all training modules, incorporating PowerPoint presentations and user guides.
- Revise the Training Course Catalog based on customer feedback throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct phased training delivery utilizing an accelerated TTT and parallel LMS development approach.
- Provide virtual training delivery support to the in-person training team as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager and UAT Coordinator to develop training objectives and ensure alignment with project timelines.
- Coordinate with project functional teams and customer stakeholders regarding training environment access, configuration, and delivery requirements.
- Incorporate feedback from TTT attendees into LMS courses on a rolling basis prior to go-live training.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for training-related technical issues and their resolution.
Required Skills / Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in instructional design, education, or a technical or business-related discipline, or equivalent years of experience.
- Practical experience in developing and delivering training programs within State and Local or Department of Defense environments.
- Experience with Learning Management System (LMS) courseware development and deployment.
- Strong instructional design skills, including the ability to create training manuals, end-user guides, and learning materials.
- Ability to manage shifting priorities and demonstrate excellent time management skills to meet aggressive deadlines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction and training delivery.
Desired Skills/Experience
- Experience with Train-the-Trainer delivery methodologies.
- Knowledge of child welfare information systems or similar government case management systems.
- Experience developing training materials tailored for multiple user roles and skill levels.
- Familiarity with parallel development approaches and phased training delivery.
