We are seeking an experienced Test Engineer to support test automation, Section 508 accessibility, and performance/load validation for an enterprise Department of Veterans Affairs Pega Cloud solution. Because this is a blended role, candidates should bring strong automation experience plus practical depth in at least one of accessibility or performance testing, with the ability to support the remaining area through established methods and team collaboration. Expertise in every individual tool is not required.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and maintain automated unit, API, workflow, regression, smoke, and end-to-end test suites integrated with the delivery pipeline.
- Automate validation of Pega rules, calculations, routing, case flows, services, integrations, reports, and critical production functions.
- Plan and execute accessibility testing using automated scans, keyboard-only testing, screen readers, manual review, and assistive-technology techniques.
- Document Section 508/WCAG findings, evidence, severity, remediation verification, regression results, and inputs to ACR/VPAT or audit materials.
- Develop workload models and scripts for baseline, load, stress, endurance, scalability, failover, and recovery testing using realistic business scenarios.
- Measure and analyze response time, throughput, concurrency, resource use, integration latency, queue depth, report execution, and batch-processing behavior.
- Identify automation gaps, accessibility barriers, performance bottlenecks, degradation points, and root causes; recommend and verify remediation.
- Maintain traceability from requirements and user stories through automated scripts, test results, defects, retesting, and release-quality gates.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, administrators, data engineers, security personnel, functional testers, and VA accessibility or performance stakeholders.
- Produce clear test plans, execution evidence, performance results, remediation inputs, quality metrics, and reusable regression assets.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
- 5+ years of software quality engineering or test automation experience, with practical experience in accessibility testing, performance testing, or both.
