NOTE: This is a 40 hour/week, fully benefited, limited duration position estimated to last between 6- 12 months. There is potential to transition to standard full-time employment. Work may be performed remotely within the contiguous United States. However, individuals who reside within a 30 mile radius of our Houston, TX or Corvallis, OR office will be required to be in office at least 4 days per week.
POSITION SUMMARY: This position directly supports the Test Engineering Manager.The Test Engineeris responsible for developing and executing test programs, primarily though contracted resources,thatsupport the design, certification, manufacture and commercial deployment of the NuScale Microreactor. Test programs conducted provide technology maturation and risk reduction, technology demonstrations, and qualification of reactor structures, systems, components and instrumentation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans, devlops and executes various types of test programs including proof-of-concept, component, performance, functional, compliance, reliability and environmental qualification.
- Identity suitable metallography and materials characterization methods as part of materials development and testing
- Participates in test planning, development and review of test specification, approval of supplier test procedures, oversight of test execution, data review and data acceptance.
- Manage small projects and oversees test project progression through supplier evaluation, contract execution, design, implementation, testing, reporting, data acceptance, and contract close out.
- Prepares test program budgets, schedules, resource requirements, statements-of-work, requests for quote, test specifications and test reports.
- Leads and reviews design drawings, sketches, schematics, procedures, results, reports and documentation.
- Leads test hardware design reviews for small projects and resolves comments stemming from these reviews.
- Analyzes test data and validation efforts that utilize test data.
- Organize data sets from test program
- Performs other duties as assigned.
