We are seeking a skilled Test Automation Engineer with strong experience in API testing and automation. The ideal candidate should have expertise in designing, developing, and executing automated test scripts for RESTful APIs and web applications while ensuring software quality throughout the SDLC.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks.
- Perform API testing using Postman, Rest Assured, or similar tools.
- Create and execute automated test scripts for functional, regression, integration, and smoke testing.
- Validate REST APIs using JSON/XML payloads.
- Develop automation scripts using Java or Python.
- Integrate automation suites with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions).
- Execute automated test suites and analyze test results.
- Log, track, and verify defects using Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in API Testing.
- Automation experience using Selenium WebDriver.
- Hands-on with Rest Assured or Postman.
- Programming experience in Java or Python.
- Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, XML.
- Experience with TestNG or JUnit.
- Version control using Git.
- CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps.
- Database testing using SQL.
- Experience with defect management tools like Jira.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with BDD frameworks (Cucumber).
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Performance testing using JMeter.
- Security/API testing knowledge is an advantage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- ISTQB certification is preferred.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
