QA Engineer
Lead end‑to‑end test automation for GOV.UK digital services, designing test plans, executing functional and non‑functional tests, and driving quality through Selenium, Python, JMeter, BDD, and Agile practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive test plans for GOV.UK digital services, ensuring coverage of user requirements across multiple environments.
- Execute functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance tests using Selenium and Python, documenting results and defect trends.
- Lead non‑functional testing initiatives, including performance testing with JMeter and security assessments, to validate system resilience.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams in Agile ceremonies, providing test insights, risk assessments, and continuous improvement recommendations.
- Automate test scripts using BDD frameworks, integrating with CI/CD pipelines to deliver rapid feedback.
Requirements
- 5+ years of test automation experience in a public sector or government environment.
- Strong knowledge of BDD principles and experience with Gherkin/Cucumber.
- Hands‑on experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to quality assurance.
