About the Role: Bristol is a hub for engineering and technological innovation, and at DT Communications Ltd, we bring that same high standard to telecommunications infrastructure. We build high-availability voice and data networks that keep modern businesses connected. We believe that critical telecom systems should be as dependable as they are advanced. We are looking for a Lead Telecommunications Systems Engineer who can take complete ownership of our network design and deployment strategy. You aren't just running cables or setting up hardware; you are architecting resilient communication ecosystems. You will lead field installations and technical operations, bridging the gap between complex network requirements and seamless infrastructure. You are the technical authority in a room full of project managers and enterprise clients.
Why Work With Us? The Environment: Our Bristol operations are situated in a thriving tech corridor. We value a practical, supportive workspace that equips you with top-tier diagnostic tools, modern equipment, and dedicated fleet support. Engineering Excellence: We don't need you to convince us that infrastructure quality matters. We know it does. You will have a direct voice in technical architecture decisions from Day 1. Modern Tech Stack: We work directly with enterprise-grade PBX, VoIP, SIP trunking, and fiber infrastructure. Our team stays ahead of industry shifts to keep our clients seamlessly connected. Growth: You will have a dedicated training budget to pursue advanced vendor certifications and stay on the cutting edge of unified communications and network technology.
Key Responsibilities: Infrastructure Ownership: Lead the end-to-end design, configuration, and deployment of enterprise voice, data, and wireless systems. Ensure absolute reliability across all client networks. Deployment & Testing: Oversee complex installations, from initial site survey and system architecture to high-fidelity network testing, fiber splicing, and client handoff. Technical Leadership: Mentor field technicians and junior engineers. Conduct technical reviews and provide constructive guidance that elevates the team's operational output. Network Diagnostics: Don't just guess. Validate network health using advanced diagnostic tools, packet analysis, and performance metrics before signing off on any deployment. Client & Stakeholder Management: Present technical solutions to key stakeholders and commercial clients. You can explain the technical rationale behind network redundancies, not just that the equipment works.
