We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated Telecommunications Solution Architect who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be comfortable performing a wide range of tasks, from administrative to strategic, and will act as both Solution Architect and Integration Manager, responsible for the design of end-to-end communication solutions across onboard, station, wayside, and control-center environments.
The scope of this role includes PA, PIS/PVIS, APIS, ACEDIS, CCTV, IP networks, radio, telephony, intercom, access control, passenger counting, master clock, and associated management and control systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Requirements analysis, solution architecture, system design, and technical compliance
- Coordination with customers, operators, engineering teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders
- Leading interface management activities across communication subsystems and external systems, including the identification, definition, and documentation of functional, physical, electrical, network, and software interfaces (protocols, data flows, IP addressing, timing and synchronization, cybersecurity requirements, interface ownership, and responsibility allocation)
- Preparation and maintenance of Interface Control Documents (ICDs)
- Ensuring design consistency, technical alignment, and integration readiness across onboard, station, wayside, and control-center domains
- Supporting resolution of interface issues and technical design decisions
- Scope may expand in the future to include system integration and commissioning support
Accountabilities
- Plan and execute design, configuration, test, and commissioning activities
- Work with Statements of Work (SOWs), whether subcontracted or delivered in-house, in a leadership or contributor capacity
- Identify, analyze, and manage requirements
- Identify and resolve interfaces internal and external to the Telecommunications System (e.g., Signaling, Rolling Stock)
- Architect and integrate medium-complexity telecommunications systems, with particular attention to networking and radio technologies
- Prepare Conceptual, Preliminary, Detailed, and Installation Designs for each telecoms subsystem
- Participate in product selection
- Create Bills of Materials and support the Purchasing Department in ordering equipment, particularly for wired and wireless telecommunications networks
- Operate effectively on medium to large-size projects
Required Profile
Must-Have Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering, or Information Technology . Ontario P.Eng. designation highly desirable .
- 8–10 years of experience in Telecommunications Engineering .
