The Data & Analytics Engineering Track is designed for individuals passionate about building scalable data solutions, enabling analytics, and turning data into insights that drive better healthcare outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Meaningful Work: Contribute to the Data & Analytics Engineering track by helping design, build, and optimize data pipelines, platforms, and analytical tools. You’ll gain hands-on experience turning raw data into insights that support data-driven decisions across The Cigna Group.
- Learn by Collaborating: Work closely with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through team initiatives and community activities. You’ll learn through collaboration while supporting innovation, recruiting efforts, onboarding, and community engagement.
- Structured Learning: Participate in core and track-specific curriculum, including technical training, leadership development, and business exposure to support your growth as a well-rounded technologist.

Qualifications
- Candidates must have participated in and completed a Cigna Group internship prior to applying for this position.
- Education: Must have completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field at the time of hire.
- Understanding of data modeling, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, and data warehousing concepts
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Experience with SQL for database querying and management
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Exposure to big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark) or cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus
- Awareness of data governance, data quality, and data integrity principles
- Courses & Experiences: Academic coursework, internships, or projects focused on data engineering, analytics, or large‑scale data systems.
- Well Rounded: Leadership or involvement in clubs, organizations, hackathons, technical competitions, or research projects.
