IMEG is hiring a T echnology Designer in Chicago, Illinois to support the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of low-voltage technology systems in buildings. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants to help deliver engineering solutions and advice that drive positive outcomes for clients.

You will support project execution from planning and documentation through coordination, quality control, budgeting, and client communication, while working across multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals and expectations. This role supports low-voltage technology work across education, institutional, and MEP markets, with a strong emphasis on healthcare, government, and communications, security, and AV systems.

What You'll Do

• Assist in the design and analysis of IT structured cabling, audio/video, security, and other low-voltage building systems.
• Utilize engineering software and tools to create detailed designs, specifications, and calculations according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand their needs, gather project requirements, and communicate technical information effectively.
• Build and maintain client relationships through professional communication.
• Work as part of a project team to support the execution of consulting projects.
• Assist in project planning and scheduling tasks to meet project deadlines and objectives.
• Assist with documenting design decisions and instructions from clients while monitoring project design progress.
• Analyze low to medium complexity engineering tasks and propose innovative solutions, collaborating with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
• Work within the project’s monetary budget and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Participate in IMEG quality control processes to ensure that engineering designs and solutions meet IMEG quality standards, industry standards and client requirements.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in low-voltage technology (ICT) engineering, and contribute to research, development, and innovation efforts within IMEG.
