Software Engineer
Production Engineering Technologist responsible for designing, planning, and coordinating temporary service solutions to support safe, efficient ship construction and repair, collaborating with production, planning, safety, procurement, and engineering teams.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed temporary service plans, including utilities, scaffolding, and access systems, to support shipbuilding and repair projects.
- Coordinate with Production, Planning, Safety, Procurement, and Engineering teams to integrate temporary services into work packages and project schedules.
- Design and specify tools, equipment, and temporary structures ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Monitor material readiness and availability, managing procurement of temporary service components and ensuring timely delivery.
- Provide technical support during installation, commissioning, and removal of temporary systems, troubleshooting issues on‑site.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in production engineering or a similar role within shipbuilding, heavy manufacturing, or industrial construction.
- Proficiency in mechanical design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and ability to produce clear engineering drawings.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations, temporary works standards, and procurement processes.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
