Working under the direction of the Chief Information and Innovation Officer and the Product Manager, the SCADA Technical Writer is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving technical documentation supporting Trimark's SCADA solutions for utility-scale renewable energy projects. The SCADA Technical Writer works closely with SCADA engineers, software developers, project managers, and subject matter experts to create clear, accurate, and professional control narratives, HMI narratives, operating procedures, system descriptions, and customer-facing documentation that communicates complex system functionality and operational workflows.
Primary Responsibilities
- Collaborate with SCADA engineers, software developers, project managers, and other technical personnel to gather, organize, and document technical information.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation including system descriptions, commissioning procedures, user guides, standard operating descriptions, and customer deliverables.
- Create, maintain, and improve control narratives, HMI narratives, system architecture documentation, and operational workflows.
- Review and enhance block diagrams, communications architectures, system workflows, and related engineering documentation to improve clarity, completeness, and usability.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear documentation suitable for customers, operators, technicians, engineers, and internal stakeholders.
- Participate in design reviews, project meetings, and engineering discussions to ensure documentation accurately reflects system functionality and project requirements.
- Maintain document revision history and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with company documentation standards and customer requirements.
- Collaborate closely with engineering teams to stay informed of product enhancements, software releases, and system modifications.
- Support continuous improvement of documentation processes, templates, and standards.
