Technical Writer
Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation for advanced command and control systems, using tools such as MS Word, FrameMaker, and XML while supporting Agile development and configuration management processes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain clear, accurate, and compliant technical manuals, user guides, and system specifications for command and control platforms.
- Collaborate with engineers, program managers, and subject‑matter experts to gather information and verify technical content.
- Apply documentation standards (e.g., DoD, MIL‑STD) and formatting tools such as MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, and XML to produce consistent deliverables.
- Support configuration management processes by tracking document revisions, baselines, and release packages.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, providing documentation updates that align with sprint deliverables and ensuring timely delivery of artifacts.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience producing technical documentation for aerospace, defense, or similar high‑security environments.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Adobe FrameMaker, and XML authoring tools.
- Familiarity with DoD documentation standards, configuration management, and Agile development practices.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross‑functional teams.
