The Technical Writer develops and maintains technical documentation across the Facilities Maintenance Services portfolio, including technical standards, processes, procedures, standard operation procedure.

The role works with operational teams, functional leads and subject matter experts to document asset ownership, maintenance responsibilities, service boundaries, work practices and expected service outcomes. The Technical Writer must be able to interpret information from multiple technical disciplines and convert it into clear, practical and controlled documents that can be applied consistently across sites.
Experience in asset management, work management, planning and scheduling, or facilities maintenance will be an advantage.
The Technical Writer works across operational and functional streams within the Facilities Maintenance portfolio. The role supports the development and maintenance of:
Technical standards
Processes and procedures
Work management documentation
Planning and scheduling documentation
Asset management documentation
Facilities maintenance service descriptions
Performance statements and supporting frameworks
RACI matrices and responsibility schedules
Process maps, workflows and supporting guidance material
The role engages with Facilities Managers, Regional and Site Operations Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Schedulers, Asset Management personnel, functional leads, subject matter experts, project teams and client representatives.
The Technical Writer is responsible for gathering technical and operational information, facilitating working sessions, preparing draft documents, coordinating reviews and managing documentation through approval and publication.
Responsibilities
Develop clear and practical technical standards, processes, procedures, work instructions and supporting guidance material.
Prepare documents that define asset ownership, operational boundaries and maintenance responsibilities between internal stakeholders, client stakeholders and other relevant parties.
Develop performance statements that describe how Sodexo service functions operate and the outcomes they are expected to deliver.
Analyse existing agreements, standards, procedures and service documentation to identify the required structure, terminology, asset categories, responsibility allocations and approval requirements.
Translate technical and operational information into documents that can be understood and applied by site teams, supervisors, planners, functional leads and managers.
Prepare supporting content such as RACI matrices, process maps, workflow descriptions, definitions, decision points and escalation paths.
Make sure documentation accurately reflects actual work practices, system requirements and ownership boundaries.
