Role Overview
The Technical Writer II is responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining mission-critical IT documentation and contract deliverables in support of Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of War (DoW) enterprise systems. This role involves translating complex technical specifications into clear, concise, and compliant documentation for both technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders, as well as managing recurring reporting requirements.
Responsible for creating clear, concise, and accurate documentation for products, services, or processes, often in high-tech or specialized fields. Involves translating complex information into user manuals, guides, help files, white papers, and training materials that are easily understandable by the target audience.
Must have excellent writing skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to grasp intricate technical concepts quickly. Work closely with engineers, product developers, and subject matter experts to ensure the content's technical accuracy and relevance.
Proficient with documentation tools, understanding of XML, DITA, or other markup languages, and familiarity with graphics and publishing software are often required. Update documentation as products evolve, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
