About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Translate complex cybersecurity concepts, policy frameworks, and guidance into clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
- Collaborate with security analysts, engineers, and compliance teams to gather information and ensure documentation reflects current best practices.
- Maintain and update a living repository of documents, ensuring version control, accessibility, and compliance with federal standards.
- Develop templates, style guides, and documentation standards to streamline content creation and improve consistency.
- Review and edit peer‑produced content for clarity, accuracy, and adherence to style guidelines.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technical writer in cybersecurity or IT consulting environments.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts, frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001), and federal compliance requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience with documentation tools such as Markdown, Confluence, or Adobe FrameMaker.
- Self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently in a fully remote setting.
