Technical Support Engineer - Fortinet
Software Engineer
Provide web and phone support for Fortinet security solutions, troubleshooting network issues, configuring firewalls, and assisting customers while expanding expertise in network security technologies.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver prompt technical assistance via web and telephone to customers using Fortinet security products.
- Diagnose and resolve networking issues, including firewall policies, VPN tunnels, and TCP/IP connectivity problems.
- Perform basic to intermediate configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Fortinet appliances and related software.
- Document case details, solutions, and best‑practice recommendations in the ticketing system.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and product teams to escalate complex problems and contribute to knowledge‑base articles.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/IP, routing, and security concepts.
- Hands‑on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and Linux/Unix environments.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation and log analysis.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and quickly learn Fortinet product suites.
