Software Engineer
Technical Specialist responsible for delivering and evolving the Services Beyond the Meter programme, leveraging SCADA, GIS and project management skills to improve safety and efficiency of gas network operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation and continuous improvement of the Services Beyond the Meter programme across the national gas network.
- Configure, monitor and optimise SCADA and GIS systems to support real‑time asset management and incident response.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop technical specifications, risk assessments and compliance documentation.
- Manage project timelines, budgets and stakeholder communications to ensure delivery of safety‑critical initiatives.
- Analyse operational data to identify performance trends, recommend enhancements and support regulatory reporting.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gas network operations or a related utilities environment.
- Strong knowledge of SCADA and GIS platforms, with hands‑on configuration and troubleshooting ability.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of industry regulations and safety standards governing gas distribution.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
