Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Technical Product Owner to join our growing R&D team in Bangalore. In this role, you will be responsible for the Schneider Electric Plant Room Sensor Platform .
These sensors support critical HVAC and mechanical room applications within building automation systems by ensuring reliable equipment operation, enabling early fault detection, and improving energy efficiency across plant rooms and central utility spaces.
As part of a talented Agile team of embedded engineers, you will develop robust sensor solutions that support the digital transformation of building infrastructure. Your focus will be on delivering high-reliability sensing solutions for demanding environments, enabling enhanced system visibility, predictive maintenance, and optimized building performance.
Key Responsibilities
Product Ownership & Requirements Management
- Serve as the primary Technical Product Owner for the Plant Room Sensor Platform, partnering closely with the Offer Manager, who is responsible for defining customer and market requirements.
- Detailed user stories
- Clear acceptance criteria
- Well-structured and prioritized backlog items
- Ensure requirements are technically feasible, unambiguous, and development-ready, effectively bridging business needs and engineering execution.
- Own and manage the product backlog, including prioritization, refinement, and alignment with release goals.
- Provide day-to-day direction to the Agile development team, ensuring clarity on scope, priorities, and expected outcomes.
- Drive engineering changes end-to-end as Product Owner, ensuring proper implementation in collaboration with manufacturing teams.
Stakeholder Management & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Act as the primary R&D point of contact for the offering.
- Ensure alignment and shared understanding among Offer Management, Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
- Define and communicate release scope, trade-offs, and technical impacts in partnership with the Offer Manager.
- Requirements clarification and feasibility assessments
- Competitive analysis and bid support
- Technical input for feature positioning and messaging
Quality, Reliability & Lifecycle Management
- Quality teams to track and resolve critical issues
- Technical support teams to incorporate field feedback
- Manufacturing and supply chain teams to support product industrialization
- Managing field issues, defect triage, and prioritization
- Driving resolution of critical customer issues
- Maintaining a backlog of improvements, fixes, and cost/quality optimizations
- Ensuring continuous product reliability and performance in deployed environments
