About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and oversee the migration of critical legacy applications to modern mainframe platforms, ensuring performance, security, and compliance.
- Lead a cross‑functional team of developers, analysts, and QA engineers in Agile sprints, fostering continuous improvement and rapid delivery.
- Design and implement automated build, test, and deployment pipelines for mainframe code using modern DevOps practices.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate functional requirements into robust COBOL and JCL solutions.
- Maintain and optimize DB2 databases, including performance tuning, data migration, and backup strategies.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with mainframe technologies (COBOL, JCL, z/OS, DB2).
- Proven track record leading technical teams and delivering large‑scale modernization projects.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience with CI/CD pipelines in a mainframe context.
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Commitment to quality, security, and regulatory compliance in the insurance domain.
