Software Engineer
A contract Technical Designer will bridge design and engineering, creating gameplay systems, prototyping features, and ensuring performance and stability within Unity for an upcoming game project.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and implement gameplay mechanics and systems using Unity and C#.
- Collaborate closely with designers, artists, and programmers to translate design concepts into functional features.
- Build and iterate level layouts, puzzles, and interactive elements while maintaining technical constraints.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks and bugs throughout development.
- Document technical solutions and provide guidance to the team on best practices for scripting and optimization.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience developing games in Unity with strong C# scripting skills.
- Proven ability to balance creative design goals with technical feasibility and performance considerations.
- Experience creating and iterating level designs, gameplay prototypes, and tools.
- Solid understanding of debugging, profiling, and optimization techniques for real‑time applications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in a remote‑first environment.
