About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable Java/Spring microservices on AWS for UK, Lloyd’s and Delegated business lines.
- Translate business strategy into a coherent technical architecture, ensuring alignment with data flow and security requirements.
- Provide hands‑on development and code reviews, driving best practices in CI/CD, containerization, and Kubernetes orchestration.
- Collaborate with senior architects, product owners, and cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality, maintainable solutions.
- Mentor and coach development teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience architecting and delivering Java/Spring microservices in a cloud environment.
- Strong proficiency with AWS services (ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3) and Kubernetes.
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Docker, and automated testing.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across multiple business units.
- Experience in the insurance or financial services domain is a plus.
