Software Engineer
Lead the design and delivery of Speechify’s web core and Chrome Extension, driving performance, scalability, and user experience across iOS, Android, Mac, and web platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and ship high‑performance, accessible web and Chrome Extension features that power Speechify’s text‑to‑speech engine.
- Lead a cross‑functional engineering team, mentoring developers and setting coding standards.
- Collaborate with product, design, and QA to define feature scope, prioritize backlog, and ensure timely releases.
- Optimize rendering, memory usage, and bundle size for a seamless user experience across browsers.
- Integrate with backend services, third‑party APIs, and cloud infrastructure to support real‑time audio streaming.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full‑stack web development experience, with deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Proven track record building and scaling Chrome Extensions and web applications.
- Strong understanding of web performance, accessibility, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) is a plus.
