Software Engineer
Lead the design and delivery of Speechify’s Web Core product and Chrome Extension, driving performance, accessibility, and feature innovation using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React in a distributed engineering environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high‑performance, accessible web and Chrome Extension features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable code.
- Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers in a fully distributed setting.
- Optimize rendering, reduce bundle size, and ensure compliance with Web Core metrics and accessibility standards.
- Drive continuous integration, automated testing, and deployment pipelines for web and extension releases.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building web applications and Chrome Extensions.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and modern build tools (Webpack, Vite).
- Strong understanding of web performance, Core Web Vitals, and accessibility (WCAG).
- Experience with CI/CD, unit/integration testing, and code quality tooling.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to thrive in a distributed, collaborative environment.
