Lead the Web Core product and Chrome Extension team, driving architecture, performance, and feature delivery for Speechify’s flagship text‑to‑speech experience across web and browser platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and ship high‑performance, scalable web core services and Chrome Extension features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product roadmap, prioritize features, and ensure seamless integration with Speechify’s TTS engine.
- Mentor and guide a distributed engineering team, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
- Optimize extension performance, memory usage, and load times to meet Chrome Web Store guidelines and deliver a smooth user experience.
- Drive continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and documentation for long‑term maintainability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of full‑stack web development experience, with a strong focus on browser extensions.
- Hands‑on experience building and publishing Chrome Extensions, including handling permissions, background scripts, and content scripts.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently in a distributed environment, and strong communication abilities.
