Software Engineer
Lead the design and delivery of Speechify’s Web Core product and Chrome Extension, driving performance, accessibility, and feature innovation using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement high‑performance, accessible web and Chrome Extension features using JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product requirements and translate them into scalable, maintainable code.
- Lead code reviews, enforce best practices, and mentor junior engineers on modern web development techniques.
- Optimize rendering, reduce bundle size, and improve Lighthouse scores to ensure a fast, reliable user experience.
- Integrate with backend services, manage state, and implement secure authentication flows across platforms.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building web applications and Chrome Extensions.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and modern build tooling (Webpack, Vite).
- Proven track record of delivering performance‑centric, accessible web experiences.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and a passion for continuous learning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a distributed team environment.
