Software Engineer
Lead the design and delivery of Speechify’s Web Core product and Chrome Extension, driving performance, scalability, and user experience using JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and implement core web and Chrome Extension features, ensuring high performance and accessibility.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable, maintainable code.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
- Optimize rendering, loading times, and memory usage across browsers and devices.
- Integrate third‑party APIs and services for text‑to‑speech, analytics, and user authentication.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building web applications and browser extensions.
- Deep expertise in JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and Node.js.
- Proven track record of delivering high‑quality, production‑ready code at scale.
- Strong understanding of browser internals, performance tuning, and security best practices.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
