Software Engineer
Lead the Web Core product and Chrome Extension team, driving architecture, performance, and feature delivery for Speechify’s flagship text‑to‑speech experience across web and browser platforms.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and ship scalable, high‑performance web core services and Chrome Extension features using JavaScript/TypeScript and React.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define product roadmap, prioritize features, and ensure seamless integration with Speechify’s TTS engine.
- Mentor and guide a distributed engineering team, fostering best practices in code quality, testing, and CI/CD.
- Optimize extension performance, memory usage, and load times to meet Chrome Web Store guidelines and deliver a smooth user experience.
- Drive continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and documentation for the Web Core stack.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience building large‑scale web applications and browser extensions.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, React, and Node.js with a strong understanding of browser APIs.
- Hands‑on experience with Chrome Extension architecture, packaging, and publishing.
- Solid background in performance optimization, debugging, and automated testing.
- Excellent communication skills and a proven ability to lead distributed teams.
