Software Engineer
Lead a high‑performing team building and maintaining reference data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS, ensuring data quality, governance and scalability for investment analytics.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a cross‑functional team of data engineers and analysts in the design, development and maintenance of reference data pipelines.
- Architect scalable ETL workflows using Python, SQL and AWS services (Glue, S3, Redshift) to ingest, transform and load high‑volume financial data.
- Define and enforce data quality, validation rules and governance standards to ensure accuracy and compliance across all reference datasets.
- Collaborate with product owners and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, adopting new tools and best practices to enhance performance, reliability and maintainability.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proficiency in Python, SQL and AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, S3).
- Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL design patterns and data governance principles.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Experience in the financial services or investment domain is highly desirable.
