Software Engineer
Perform semi‑skilled and skilled maintenance, installation, repair, and calibration of programmable digital control systems, communications gear, and computer hardware supporting electric and water utility operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, program, and maintain programmable digital distributed control systems (PLC, SCADA, HMI) for electric and water utilities.
- Repair, calibrate, and monitor utility computer equipment, networking devices, and related hardware.
- Configure and troubleshoot communications equipment and data links to ensure reliable system operation.
- Provide on‑site technical support, including diagnostics, fault isolation, and corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, maintenance activities, and equipment inventories.
Requirements
- Associate degree or technical certification in Electrical, Electronics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency with PLC programming, SCADA/HMI interfaces, and network configuration (TCP/IP, Ethernet).
- Hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Windows and Linux based utility computer systems.
- Knowledge of electrical utility equipment, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, reliable attendance, and ability to work collaboratively with internal and external customers.
