Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex systems to identify potential hazards and failure modes.
- Conduct risk assessments, categorize risk levels, and document mitigation recommendations.
- Apply safety standards (e.g., MIL‑STD‑882) and perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to ensure compliance.
- Develop safety cases, hazard logs, and traceability matrices for system designs.
- Collaborate with internal engineers, government personnel, and subcontractors to integrate safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle.
- Support certification and audit activities, providing technical evidence of safety compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Safety Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in system safety engineering, hazard analysis, and risk assessment.
- Proficiency with safety standards such as MIL‑STD‑882 and experience conducting FMEA.
- Strong analytical and communication skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams and government stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
