Software Engineer
Lead the design, development, and integration of advanced naval warhead systems for a new sub‑launched ballistic missile program, applying systems engineering, R&D, and project management expertise to deliver cutting‑edge defense solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead systems engineering activities for the Q‑20, W93/Mk7 warhead development, including requirements analysis, architecture design, and integration planning.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define mission needs, technical specifications, and performance metrics for naval ballistic missile systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, trade studies, and validation testing to ensure compliance with DoD/Navy and DoE/NNSA standards.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation, providing technical guidance to junior engineers and contractors.
- Prepare technical reports, design documentation, and presentation materials for senior leadership and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field with 5+ years of systems engineering experience in defense or aerospace.
- Proven expertise in weapon systems, ballistic missile technology, and R&D program execution.
- Strong analytical skills, proficiency in modeling and simulation tools, and experience with project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities in a highly regulated environment.
