Systems Engineer
Lead the design, deployment, and operation of Route 53 DNS services across AWS’s global infrastructure, ensuring high availability, performance, and security for millions of customers worldwide.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Architect, implement, and maintain Route 53 DNS services at scale, ensuring 99.99% uptime and low latency across all regions.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (software, hardware, security, and supply chain) to integrate DNS solutions into the broader AWS infrastructure.
- Analyze performance metrics, troubleshoot incidents, and drive continuous improvement of DNS routing, failover, and health‑check mechanisms.
- Develop automation scripts and tooling (Python, CloudFormation) to streamline deployment, configuration, and monitoring of DNS resources.
- Document best practices, operational procedures, and incident post‑mortems for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in large‑scale DNS or network services engineering.
- Deep knowledge of AWS Route 53, DNS protocols, and global routing concepts.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, Bash) and infrastructure‑as‑code (CloudFormation, Terraform).
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of troubleshooting complex distributed systems.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
